We shot the Summer 2024 collection of Explosion, one of Türkiye's well-known womenswear brands, at our studio in Şişli, Istanbul. The idea was a summer escape: a wooden pier, a calm sea stretching behind it and a bright blue sky with clouds. None of that landscape was outside the studio.
A pier in the studio
The pier floor and the concrete blocks were built for real inside the set; the models walked, sat and lay on them. The sea and the sky were added to the frames after the shoot, staying true to the direction of the light and the shadows. So every photograph sits inside the same tropical scene, yet was shot under the controlled light of the studio.
Colour and movement
The collection was all bold colour: fuchsia, purple, orange, lemon yellow. Flying scarves, flowing skirts and ruffles were caught at the very peak of their movement; every look appeared on screen instantly and was reviewed there with the team before moving on.
A short, fast film
The behind-the-scenes film tells the energy of the campaign in a short vertical format: colour blocks, graphic transitions and moments from the set follow one another. Below is a selection of the photographs from the shoot; the full series is on the project page.
